What materials does Birkenstock use?
-Suede
Suede is a rough leather with a roughened surface and a brushed texture. Its velvety-soft surface makes suede feel comfortable on the skin. It is also highly moisture-absorbent. Suede is naturally softer and more supple and does not have the same stiffness as smooth leather. Furthermore, the stability of suede varies from skin to skin. There are no material or manufacturing defects.
-Leather insole
The skin-friendly, flexible leather insole caresses the foot and adapts to its contours. This material has open pores and is therefore exceptionally breathable, ensuring a comfortable foot climate even during strenuous physical activity.
-Footbed material:
Cork Cork is a renewable resource extracted from the bark of the cork oak. This natural product is heat-insulating and offers excellent cushioning properties.
-Outsole:
EVA EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, exceptionally lightweight, elastic synthetic material with excellent cushioning properties. It evens out minor floor imperfections and softly cushions every step as you walk.
